XXII Gets listed in the National Buy Black Movement.
The Black Up Start is an organization that trains black entrepreneurs to start profitable businesses. They have started a movement where black businesses are listed on their website and the goal is for consumers to collectively spend $5 million at black owned businesses from "Juneteeth" June 19th - July 4th.
"We are honoured to partner with an organization like The Black Up Start to bring awareness to black creativity and voices. It is so important that we amplify melanated voices in the black and brown community as we are treated with inequality from the first breath and it must cease. Society is finally shining a light on this inequity" - Mtisunge Lucy Ngwira, C.E.O. & Founder
Some background on our C.E.O. :
Mtisunge Lucy Ngwira is an African woman with multiple disabilities, she strives to make XXII as inclusive as possible and believes that representation can change the world.
"As a plus size, black, disabled woman in America I am very much invisible to the media, I've spent much time wishing I could see someone on TV that I could relate to, someone who I could aspire to. My hope is to change that for not only disabled women, but other underrepresented groups such as Asian women, Muslim women, Seniors and more, we all deserve a piece in the pie of equality"
