Avocado Hair Mask

Got dry, dull, lifeless hair? Maybe some split ends or frizz? WELL LOOK NO FURTHER GLAM FAM! Today I bring you a recipe for a hair mask so magnificent it’s like the goddess of beauty made it herself! This hair mask makes your hair bouncy, shiny and OH so soft! It’s cheap to make, and great for all hair types!

Ingredients:

4-5 tablespoons Coconut Oil (packed with vitamins, fatty acids, and penetrates hair follicles. Promotes scalp/hair health, great for detangling, defrizzing, and promotes new hair growth!)

8-9 tablespoons Coconut Milk (a great natural conditioner)

1 medium/large Avocado (packed with vitamin E and fatty acids, softens and conditions hair follicles.)

3-4 tablespoons of honey (natural humectant & packed with antioxidants, great for conquering frizz!)

2-3 tablespoons of Olive Oil (natural antifungal/antibacterial and loaded with essential nutrients, great for hair loss/regrowth and dandruff!)

All products can be found at your local grocery store, they don't have to be anything fancy. I just used what I already had in the house.

Directions:

Add all ingredients to bowl and MIX! I used a hand held electric mixer. You want to get it as smooth and incorporated as possible!

Now for the application you can:

1. Rinse hair with warm water to get rid of any existing products (hairspray, leave in conditioner, etc.) Towel dry hair (you want it damp not soaking) and apply mask ALL OVER your hair, and don't forget the SCALP!

2. Apply to dry hair/scalp that has no existing product in it!

I use about half the amount of the mask for my medium length hair!

Once you've got the mask and all its magical properties incorporated into your hair (be liberal with it!) wrap hair into bun and VOILÁ!

Let sit for 1-2 hours for optimal results!

I keep a towel nearby because it can be messy and drip a little, or you could just lick it off, tastes good too!

Tips:

- Wear a shirt you don’t care about just in case oil stains

-I find that if I cover my hair with a shower cap or plastic bag it helps the mask to work deeper.

After you are done "cooking" rinse hair with warm water.

I like to do a vinegar rinse following this mask because it helps break down old shampoo build up without stripping your hair of the healthiness you just put into it!

Recipe for Vinegar rinse:

1 1/2 cups of Apple cider vinegar

2 quarts of water

I like to do it in two applications, I pour half the mixture on my hair and let sit for 5-6 minutes, then rinse, and the other half pour on hair and let sit for remainder of shower and rinse just before you step out!

After this my tresses feel and look amazing!

I do this Mask about once a week!

Mixture can stay good in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week!
