Recipe: Cucumber Lime Water

HAPPY MAY GLAM FAM! Wow where has the time gone? Anyways! I am here today to give you an ear full about this wonderful very green drink! Cucumber lime water! yes I know it looks like someone put The Hulk in a blender but I promise you it’s amazing. Cucumber lime water is so refreshing during the hot days that are almost upon us. For one, cucumber is loaded with essential vitamins like A, B, & C which help to boost the immune system. It is also packed with minerals such as magnesium, potassium, and silicon which are all super skin friendly! Not only is cucumber great for staying hydrated, it also cools your body inside and out, it can be used for heart burn, or to topically treat a burn. AMAZING! Last but definitely not least, it helps to aid in weight loss, and flushes toxins from the body! The list of benefits goes on but those are a few that can benefit you! Secondly, limes contain calcium and folate, which are super beneficial to us ladies (and gents). Lime can help lower cholesterol levels, and help reduce the body’s absorption of sugar! Plus they add a nice citrus hint! So, do any of you want to know how to make this health monster?

Ingredients:

1 large cucumber

5 key limes

½ gallon of water

Directions: Start by using one large cucumber washed and 70% peeled (a lot of peel can leave a bitter aftertaste), then proceed to extract the juice whether it be by; grating, crushing, blending, smashing . Whatever floats your boat! (I used a blender). Now you want to get as much liquid out of it as possible. Next, strain your mush through a medium small strainer and press out all the liquid, some pulp is ok, depending on your taste preference! Now, take about 5 key limes and juice those babies (I like key limes because they are a little sweeter on the taste buds). Add that to your container/pitcher that is already holding your cucumber liquid. Now add about half a gallon of water and VOILA! A refreshing summer drink that is sure to keep you hydrated and cool in the heat! Again, this is the way I do it, but feel free to play around with how much or how little of each ingredient you use! You can’t really go wrong! Hope you lovelies give it a try! Have a great day! XOXO
